This Steampunk Mechanical Heart Pendant is Magnificent! [Pics]

From Michelle Murray from Steelhip design:

Here is one of my signature steampunk pieces – the mechanical flying heart. Although I make many of these, each one is unique with different features and vintage parts. I love working in miniature – the more complex – the better. This piece is extremely intricate with some parts less than 2mm. I’ve been having some fun using Glow in the Dark pigment powders just to add another level to the design.

Perfect to add the wow factor to your Victorian and/or Steampunk costume but versatile (and symbolic) enough to be worn with contemporary fashion.

Funko’s New “Inside Out” Blindbox Toy Series

box1

If you do not know what a blindbox is, I will give you a quick schooling. In the world of vinyl toy collectibles, a blindbox is when you buy a toy but have no way of knowing which one it is until you open it. Half the fun of blindboxes is that you never know what you’re gonna get (rumor is Forrest Gump loves them).

Funko, who is one of the fore runners in the modern vinyl toy resurgence has just released a lineup of blindbox toys for the new Pixar movie, Inside OutThe film itself is getting a lot of praise, and the figures look like they really do the awesome animation style justice. Plus, who doesn’t love a good “mystery figure” now and then?

An Interesting, Animated Look at The History of Weapons

Weapons have been used since the first moment man figured out he could kill another man (or an animal) without using his hands. But the truth is, as much as we all are aware of modern and historical weapons (swords, cannons, and so forth), how much do we REALLY know? Well, unless you are schooled on it, not a great deal.

Which makes this animated history of weapons that much more interesting.
