7 Times Epic Box Art Overpromised Wildly

The one piece of advice my Dad gave me has proven to be incredibly priceless the older and poorer I get: never buy a game based on how badass or cool the box art is, Remy, because that is not often the best representation of the gameplay. I mean, it was very specific advice, but as the box art on these 7 games prove, the old man knew what he was talking about.

Build Your Own Set of Automatic Wolverine Claws! [Video]

Now everyone can build their own set of Wolverine-like claws thanks to the Wearable Muscle Sensor Platform. The project is currently up on Kickstarter but has already been fully funded.

The tutorial to build your own claws is available on Makezine.com.

Our tutorial will teach you to build bionic claws using our fourth-generation muscle sensor, the MyoWare. Simply flex your forearm muscle and *SNIKT*, a fraction of a second later the 4 inch claws extend out. Relax your forearm to retract the claws. We’ve even added a muscle-activated locking mechanism in case you want the claws to stay out without keeping your muscle flexed.

This shipping container, which we presume to contain a live raptor, was recently dropped at London’s Waterloo Station as a marketing campaign for Jurassic World, which is set to open in the UK on June 12th. Last week, a dinosaur carcass was also spotted being carried around London for a dinosaur autopsy show. (Thanks Taylor!)

Animazement 2015 Cosplay Video

From Beat Down Boogie:

Beat Down Boogie has launched their latest cosplay video, Animazement 2015. Animazement is an anime convention that takes place in Raleigh, NC. To capture a unique visual, we used a lens that generally isn’t used for filming cosplay events. The resulting shots really isolate and spotlight each cosplayer, even in the middle of a crowd. Enjoy!

SensorWake: Help Fund An Alarm Clock That Wakes You With Scents

mag

Can you imagine what it would be like to wake up to the beautiful scent of a warm croissant every day instead of a buzzing alarm clock? Well, good news. Soon (hopefully) you can.  SensorWake, which is on Kickstarter right now, is the alarm clock we have all been dreaming about. It uses the waft of delicious and intriguing scents to wake you up in the morning. Coffee, hot chocolate, and the aforementioned croissants being some prime examples. Via LaughingSquid:

The developers say the device was tested on more than 100 people to ensure that the smells really do have a waking effect, and claim the device can wake a person in two minutes. As a failsafe, if the user is still asleep after three minutes a traditional auditory alarm is sounded

I rarely tell people to help with kickstarter campaigns, but SensorWake is just too cool to ignore.
