Honeycomb Pendant Doubles Up as a Wrench

Not only will this Honeycomb pendant look fabulous on you, but it could also get you out of some tricky situations, thanks to the fact that it can double up as a wrench!

This high-polished solid stainless steel pendant may have a hexagonal shape reminiscent of honeycomb or a complex molecular structure, but in the true spirit of “form follows function”, the hexagons can fit a standard sized bit (not included) and 8, 10, 12 and 14mm bolts, so that in a pinch, you’ve got a functional wrench in addition to a very cool piece of jewelry. MacGyver would be jealous!

Female Link Cosplay [Pic]

Nerd 1: Where did you get the sword and shield?
Nerd 2: Some redhead dressed like Link came over, took off all her clothes, and said I could have whatever I see.
Nerd 1: Good choice, the clothes probably wouldn’t fit.

Free Download: Portal 2 Soundtrack and Ringtones

Yeah, I have to admit that the headline of this post might make it sound a little spammy, but trust me, it’s not.

The fine folks over at Valve are offering Portal 2 fans free music and ringtones from the game! Just head over to thinkwithportals.com, where you can download the game’s soundtrack along with a set of 6 ringtones. I’ve already installed “Turret Wife Serenade” on my Nexus one, and can’t wait to see if it’ll generate a glimmer of recognition in the eyes of total strangers.

Star Wars remake week: The Crowdsourced Edition

Today’s entry is by far the most ambitious, from starwarsuncut.com. It’s a crowdsourced remake in which web users each claimed a 15 second section of the movie and reshot it using whatever facilities they had available. The clips were then stitched back together to make the full-length movie, as well as this trailer:

Artfully Visualizing our Humanity [VIDEO]

Artist Aaron Koblin takes vast amounts of data — and at times vast numbers of people — and weaves them into stunning visualizations. From elegant lines tracing airline flights to landscapes of cell phone data, from a Johnny Cash video assembled from crowd-sourced drawings to the “Wilderness Downtown” video that customizes for the user, his works brilliantly explore how modern technology can make us more human.
