Battlefield – Main Theme (Anastasia Soina violin)

A fantastic cover of the main theme from Battlefield 1 by violinist extraordinaire Anastasia Soina. I still haven’t tried the game, but I heard it was pretty darn fantastic with great gameplay and beautiful visuals, with many people reporting that it should win FPS of the year, especially when it comes to the online multiplayer mode.

Have you played Battlefield 1? Would you recommend it to fans of the FPS genre? Let us know in the comments below!

MEGA MAN 2 – Quick Man Banjo Cover [Video]

From Banjo Guy Ollie:

Here’s the Quick Man them from Capcom’s Mega Man 2 on Nintendo NES.
I tried to stick to the original arrangement on this one and it sort of revealed it’s Latino vibes instantly.

The original has this rhythmic sound throughout that I thought about leaving aside altogether but it reminded me of the sound of the berimbau used in capoera so I decided to try to emulate it with a stick and the bouzouki. I had to tape off the other strings to prevent them from ringing, and used it as a chord drone.

I also extended the drums on the second section to every beat as it gave it more drive and an almost climatic feel. It seems to work without taking away from the original tune.
