Unfortunately, this is only a fan-made video and NOT a real trailer (as professional as it does look). I remember ages ago there were whispers of a Captain Planet movie. I got so excited and then the financial crisis hit and the project was dropped. Please, please let it return! There will be so many fans.

I couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I saw the website for this – Joss Whedon has made a film of Much Ado About Nothing with an incredible cast? No way. And to be honest, I didn’t believe it.
Then I discovered that GaS has actually covered Joss Whedon’s secret project before, back when it first became public knowledge (and I was clearly living under a rock…or perhaps a pile of Uni assignments). So I thought I’d give a quick update.
Truth is, before I found it on GaS, I tracked it down to the Toronto International Film Festival Website itself before I believed this was actually real. The all black and white movie will premiere on the 8th of September, with showings on September 9th and September 14th in Toronto. If you’re in Canada (or even anywhere in North America really) – you better find a way to be there. This is a pretty awesome opportunity for you guys and I would be thoroughly disappointed for you if you missed it!
For those who don’t know much about the project, basically Joss Whedon’s wife suggested to him that instead of taking the vacation they were supposed to take, that he make the Much Ado About Nothing film that he had always dreamed about making. He’s got a pretty awesome wife doesn’t he? It’s got stars like Amy Acker (as Beatrice), Alexis Denisof (as Benedick) and Nathan Fillion (as Dogberry) to mention just a few of the JW favourites in the cast.
The whole thing was shot in black and white, and completely at Joss Whedon’s house. It took only a month, from inception to production, plus 12 days for shooting. So the speed, the private location, and Mr. Whedon specifically telling everyone involved not to mention it, made the whole thing quite easy to keep quiet. The film goes for 107 minutes and is being shot by Jay Hunter, who also worked with Joss Whedon on Dollhouse.

The Imagine 3D Printer by Essential Dynamics is inching us ever closer to 3D printing as a commercial option for regular households. And this one can print food.
In fact, it can print just about anything. From the site itself:
If you can bring it to a soft form first (using a household blender), you can print with it. The sky is the limit.
Starting to sound like we’re getting closer to Replicators!
Apparently, since this printer uses syringes instead of the regular hot plastic extrusion pieces found on other 3D printers, it can print things at room temperature – such as food! According to an interview with Stevie Green, Essential Dynamics Sales Manager, over at Fabbaloo they’ve tested the printer with chicken, fish, turkey, beef and pork, blending it and then shoving it in the cartridge.
This could mean some very extravagantly designed fine-dining options for chefs, but it also means intricate work can be performed on cakes and other sweet delicacies. Truly edible art is a real possibility with this.
Here’s a video “demonstrating” it, but exactly what it’s making…I have no idea.
The product boasts the “largest build tray in the industry” at 9″ by 9″, is designed to be lightweight and portable and, most importantly, affordable – it only costs $1,995, which is actually more reasonable than I thought it would be. Seems pretty cool, anyone tried one out by any chance?
