This Live Cello Version of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” is Surprisingly Entertaining! [Video]

I’m pretty sure most readers here have seen 2Cellos epic cover of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, but seeing a regular music video and a live performance is something completely different. In this case, the live version is almost as entertaining as the “official” version we’ve seen before. I’d love to see these guys in concert one day, but unfortunately, their Canadian tour is already over.

If you’ve never seen it, here’s the official music video:

Heroes of the Storm – Main Theme (Anastasia Soina Violin Cover) [Video]

We’ve featured Anastasia Soina a few times in the past on GAS, and once again, the lovely Russian violinist has released yet another fantastic video game music cover, this time performing the main theme from Blizzard’s multiplayer online battle arena game, Heroes of the Storm. This is also the first time I see her playing a different musical instrument, a saxophone!

How Do Desensitizing Toothpastes Work? [Science Video]

Do you suffer from toothaches when eating popsicles (maybe you should just stop biting into them?) or when you switch from eating something super cold to something too hot too quickly? To help protect your teeth against the pain, you can purchase desensitizing toothpastes at the Pharmacy, but do you know how these work? If you don’t, no worry, the folks from SciShow have you covered!

New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2016 Cosplay in Pictures – Sunday [Gallery]

richies

Sunday was the last day at New York Comic Con, and as promised, here is our final picture gallery featuring the cosplayers we ran into at the event! The temperature was kind of bad on that day, so there was a lot less people in costume, that’s why I added a few extra creative commons-licensed pictures from Flickr user Richie S to our gallery. Thanks for sharing your pics with the world, Richie! And many thanks to Rich from Aggressive Comix for taking the time to take pictures for us! If you missed our galleries from the past two days, they’re here: Friday, Saturday.

The Pretty Town [Comic]

pretty

A pretty town, beneath an active volcano, on an unstable land mass, on a rock that spins in an endless, black void. Yeah, we’re pretty much doomed. At least there’s good ice cream. Good ice cream… and good food in general, is always a good thing to have when there’s impending doom hanging at the tip of your nose at all time. Oh, and chocolate too. Chocolate is even better than ice cream.

These Pop Culture Inspired Motorcycle Helmets Look AMAZING!

Motorcycle helmet manufacturer HJC has been making helmets since 1971, and the company has recently started selling some pop culture-inspired helmets that look absolutely amazing! My favorite is the one that looks like Boba Fett’s helmet, of course, but they also have other ones that look like Kylo Ren’s helmet, Spider-Man’s mask, or Venom’s face. Check ’em out below!

SPRAY AND SLAY [Comic]

slay

Yeah, if we look at all those “Axe” commercials, deodorant sprays could lead you to procreate endlessly for the next thousand years, but fortunately, it doesn’t exactly work like that. Who would want a thousand babies anyways? They’re A LOT of work, at least for us, humans. Cockroaches probably just have them and then stop caring for all I know.

SNL Touches on Some ‘Stranger Things’ Mysteries Like Only SNL Can

We would all be lying if we were to say Stranger Things hasn’t transcended TV and become something bigger. Everyone watched it and everyone loved it, and now that we have all finished it, seems between Jimmy Fallon and SNL, we will now start seeing the skits and bits inspired by this awesome show.

This particular sketch from Saturday Night Live this week involves a very particular aspect of Stranger Things that was never mentioned during the season. And though I won’t ruin it here for you, it is pure gold. You even finally meet the creators, The Duffer Brothers, only in typical SNL form. Well played, SNL. Well played. Some say you lost it years ago.

I am not one of those haters. This is pure gold.

Editor’s note: Not available in Canada, but I know it works in the U.S. and the UK.
