Was it only me who used to sit on the beach as a kid and dig a hole, hoping to one day make a deep enough one to reach the other side of the Earth?
Well the guys at minutephysicsย have contemplated the science of the situation, looking at what would happen if weย were to dig a hole through the Earth, and even consider if the Earth was hollow, whether it could work. Check it out:
When I first saw that there were “Star Wars-Like Autos” I thought this was going to be some weird fake video. But Aerofexย seems to be for real (though their site…needs some work) โ they’ve created actual, workable personal hover craft!
It apparently uses high-powered fans to hover, reaching up to 30 mph in speed and climbing up to 15 feet off the ground. According to the description of the following video, it’s actually been redesigned to respond to the pilot’s natural sense of balance without needing flight control software!
That’s pretty nifty stuff and I’m sure it has the Star Wars fans salivating.
Unfortunately for those Star Wars fans, this is going to be sold to the military first, before it ever hits the public. But even so…are we on our way to Back to the Future-esque hover boards someday? I hope so.
I know it’s not Saturday, but this is such a feat of biology I thought it was worth posting.
This is Venus. This isย not a photoshopped picture. She’s what they call a “chimera”, which according to Wikipedia (all hail Wikipedia) means that she “is composed of two or more different populations of genetically distinctย cellsย that originated from differentย zygotesย involved inย sexual reproduction.”
To me, she’s just a really unique and awesome looking cat. People still think it’s photoshopped/faked, but the owner of the cat has uploaded many more photos and vides on Facebook for all to see. She’s real, and she’s beautiful.
It’s funny, because she looks just like a mix of her housemates โ which is why her mum got her in the first place. Look at em all cuddled up:
What if Pixar was in charge of making The Expendables 2. And they decided to go down the Toy Story route? Well the folks at IGN thought it up and created this trailer to show what it would be like.
Back in June, we brought you “Hughes the Force,” a video from Kevin Smith’s YouTube channel that rather successfully mashes “Star Wars” with classic John Hughes teen comedies & tropes, in particular, “Weird Science.”
Now, Denis Medri – the same guy who drew Rockabilly Batman – has drawn out the ‘Star Wars’ characters as if they were *all* human and living in a 1980s, John Hughes-inspired world!
Can you interpret which ’80s character is his or her ‘Star Wars’ equivalent??
This takes diorama to a whole new level. With over 50,000 lego blocks, Blake Baer and Jake Bittner constructed this incredible model of the home of Elrond in Lord of the Rings. It weighs in at 120 pounds and is measured at 40 inches by 30 inches. Quite an impressive feat, wouldn’t you say?
