Sgt. Pepper Meets Star Wars In Amazing Parody Album

The Beatles and Star Wars fandoms must have a sizeable crossover by sheer force of numbers and both are covered in a new parody album of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The project from Palette Swap Ninja took five years of work and was completed in time for both the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: A New Hope and the 50th anniversary of the album, which both take place in the next few weeks.

The album takes the original tracks – and running order — of Sgt. Pepper and rewrites the lyrics to fit the narrative of A New Hope. The full running order is:

  1. Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans (originally Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band)
  2. With Illicit Help From Your Friends (With a Little Help from My Friends)
  3. Luke Is In The Desert (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)
  4. Never Better (Getting Better)
  5. Imperial Holes (Fixing A Hole)
  6. He’s Leaving Home (She’s Leaving Home)
  7. Being From the Spaceport of Mos Eisley (Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite!)
  8. The Force Within You (Within You Without You)
  9. AA Twenty-Three (When I’m Sixty-Four)
  10. Dianoga (Lovely Rita)
  11. Keep Moving Keep Moving (Good Morning Good Morning)
  12. Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans Reprise (Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Reprise)
  13. A Day in the Life of Red Five (A Day in the Life)

The entire album is available to download free of charge at http://paletteswapninja.com and is also on YouTube with the lyrics overlaid on clips from the movie.

How to Prepare Homer Simpson’s Patented Space Age Moon Waffles [Video]

Homer Simpson revels in combining food and drink with wild abandon: every liquor in the house set aflame with cough syrup, skittles floating in beer, tomatoes cross-bred with tobacco. Few, however, are as heartbreakingly realistic as the H.S.P.S.A.O.O.T.W.M.W. Strip down to your undies, strap on an apron, and let’s clog some arteries.
