Boy Meets Robert Downey, Jr. and Cries Because He’s Not Iron Man [Pic]

Jaxon Denno is only 1 1/2 years old, but he loves Iron Man. As it turns out, Robert Downey, Jr. was in town shooting a movie and was happy to come by and meet him.

Except Jaxon is a fan of Iron Man…and when a non-goateed “Tony Stark” showed up…it wasn’t only little Jaxon who felt confusion and grief.

boy meets RDJ and cries

Not to worry, though: After a little coaxing and explaining from Mrs. Denno and chatting with Downey, Jr. for a few minutes, little Jaxon warmed up to the actor!

  1. Kids this young are ALWAYS unpredictable! They believe what they see on screen is real, so I’m not entirely surprised by Jaxon’s reaction. It’s time this like when Robert’s acting ability could have come in handy! Saying anything like “I’m on a secret mission and have to shave to not be as noticible! Iron Man armour is being worked on some more for an ultra cool addition!” probably would have worked a lot quicker to turn the kid around. Whatever was said though, it worked by the sounds of it!

  2. I honestly think my son would react the same way. He LOVES Iron Man and Spiderman, and I really think he would be very upset if he saw the actors in real life but without their signature Super Hero looks. I do like Mika’s idea, though. Actors who play super heroes should probably keep a similar idea in mind for just this kind of occasion. (Sorry if this winds up being a repost, for some reason posts have been acting up of late for me)

  3. Why the hell does a 1 1/2 year old need to even know what Iron Man is? Idiot parents exposing kids to violent content is just wrong!
