Friends Don’t Let Friends Play Inverted [Video]

I’ve never understood how people could actually play without inverted controls.  Maybe it’s all the flight simulations as a child.  But no, I mean, think about it: if you were standing behind a person, guiding their movements, if you pushed forward, they’d lean down.  If you pulled back on them, they’d lean up.  IT MAKES SENSE, LEAVE ME ALONE.

Anyway, the video is funny.

  1. I love it! I can fly with inverted controls…but not when I'm back in character…Up is..up and down is down. :P

  2. To this day, I invert the axes (yep, X and Y if I can) of every game I play. It's how I grew up playing. But this is a huge problem when a friend or group wants me to play any FPS (which I never play on my own) and I end up staring dumbly at the ground while the sniper that I *know* is on the roof kills me, all because I forgot that, in this silly world, pushing up makes your eyes go up.

I'm actually working on this now by playing a first-person game with normal axes. It's a lesson in humility and patience sometimes, especially when I'm running and fighting and I let my instincts take over the moving while I have to aim. I usually end up in a wall, but it's getting better. Slowly.

Hi, my name is Gigi and I… I'm an Inverter.

  3. I kind of want to do an experiment to figure out the differences between people who play inverted and those who don't.

Personally, I play inverted. When you aim down with a real gun, you don't pull the gun down, you bear down, essentially leaning forward. When you aim up, you don't push up, you pull back.

  4. Personally, I don't give a flying {insert vaugely graphic curse here} about which way you play it, just let me know which way it's set as before you hand it to me. If Brandon had done that before switching with Freddie, they'd still be alive.

  5. By that logic, op, you should also have your horizontal axes inverted. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense at all.

  6. i have to invert my y axis other whys i get totally confused and cant wrap my head around it so i think ppl who dont invert at least their y are a little weird

  7. I started playing inverted not because of fps or airplane/helicopter games…no…I started on my N64 Banjo Kazooie XD default ctrls on there was inverted. Hail to all the inverted players. Im the only one out of all my friends that play it that way XP

  8. Starfox 64 must have been my go-to game during my development as a gamer. It was around that time, I guess, and I played it ALL the time. But I CANNOT think about what I'm doing while I'm playing, and therefore, my instincts drive, and they say, "Inverted. Flight controls." :)

This guy is a Wise. I always said that. People doesn't understand this.
