New Photos of The Hobbit’s Dwarves [Pics]

We’ve got Bofur, Bombur, Bifur and Dori. Nori, Ori, Oin and Gloin, Fili, Kili and Thorin, but do you recall the most epic Goblin-cleaver of all?*

New images have been released over the last few days of the dwarves of Peter Jackson’s upcoming The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and we’ve rounded them all up for you here. As usual, Jackson and team do not disappoint.

  1. Is It just me or does Thorin look suspiciously like a Klingon – minus the brow ridges?

I thinks it's the hair and armor myself.

  2. I'm really interested to see how this movie ends up! I think the Dwarfs look cool! It seems a lot of people are expecting them to all look like Gimli from the LOTR movies. I don't see why this has to be so, since the only thing dwarves are required to have is a beard and be a certain height. (Obviously younger dwarves will have less beard.) I *am* glad that Gloin looks like Gimli at least. Good for continuity. :D

What's really exciting is The Hobbit will be the first time many people are introduced to Tolkien's dwarves! The LOTR books didn't have much about them, even with Gimli, so most mention of them were cut out for time's sake in the movies. Now we'll get a whole movie with THIRTEEN dwarves! HOW INCREDIBLY AWESOME! :D

  3. I pray that this won't be an abomination…
I do like that they didn't just give them all axes and call it a day.
