Terra Nova: A Second Chance for Humanity? [Trailer]

Check out the new trailer for Terra Nova, the upcoming FOX TV series produced by Steven Spielberg.

The show begins in the year 2149, a time when all life on planet Earth is threatened with extinction. In an effort to save the human race, scientists develop a portal allowing travel 85 million years back in time to prehistoric Earth. The Shannon family (father Jim, his wife Elisabeth, and their three children Josh, Maddy and Zoe) join the tenth pilgrimage of settlers to Terra Nova, the first human colony on the other side of the temporal doorway. However, they are unaware that the colony is in the middle of a group of carnivorous dinosaurs. [Source]

    •  I wish, no that wouldn't leave me wondering what exactly the scientists were on.  Or thinking that by the humans are supposed to evolve were already have all the super Bugs in existence cause they're already used to attacking human biology.

    • It would be a double time line where when one person goes back it doesn't affect the time line they were previously on. Therefore not changing their present.

  1. So they go back in time to colonize Earth.  So did anyone bother explaining to them that there is a really big asteroid on its way?

  2. It's an interesting premise, but what strikes me is that they are leaving 2149 (maybe we've screwed up the world too much at that point because of…) but then they bring aspects of that world back in time with them. I hope that those vehicles were not internal combustion engines, or I'd think that we would just screw the world up faster with more time to have harmful emissions.

It just seems as if, instead of traveling to other planets to change/pollute the environment, they've done the ultimate in recycling and gone back to get another chance (if the wee beasties don't finish them off first) to mess up. Hopefully, they really are going back to do it differently.

  3. If this was on the BBC I guarentee that it would be moved to a graveyard slot mid-season and have the second season canceled in favor of Police/dectective drama #46574.

  4.  It's on Fox so even if it turns out to be a good series it'll be cancelled just as it gets interesting.

  5. Great idea. How to save humanity ? Oh Yes !! We will fuck the planet Earth, just earlier in time…

Not for me. Spielberg, you disappoint me.

  6. Ah I have a question…..what kind of idiot thought it was a good idea to go live with dinosaurs??? if your going to go back in time go back 5 million years or so.

  7. They should have set it to about 4000 bce which would have given them some very interesting story potentialities and an opportunity to really affect history instead of just the worn out dinosaur danger scenarios. Think of all the merging societies they could interact with. Besides it would be virtually impossible to adapt humans to that time frame (85mil bce) physically. Totally ridiculous. This will last about 6 episodes…………….
