Best Looking Indie Game of All Time: Hawken [Trailer]

Check out the trailer for what could possibly be the best looking indie game of all time.

Adhesive Games is developing a new Mech Combat FPS. All clips in this video were captured from actual network game matches. The third person shots are from a spectator camera, gameplay is first person. We expect to release a first person gameplay trailer soon.

The trailer looks a bit jerky, but I’m sure the development team will have things all smoothed out before the game’s final release date.

  1. That is definitely the best looking indie title so far. But I think the movement looks jerky due to the fact that it’s probably hard to translate realistically smooth mech movements into a fast-paced FPS. I can quite easily picture what running, shooting and then instantly jumping would do to a mech of any weight :P But given the fact that the game isn’t released yet warrants the possibility of smoother movements. Or a smoother transition between movement types.

  3. Oh guys, you can hardly imagine how hard read something "pretend to be written in Russian" for Russians. This is so stupid

  4. I remember being really into the Armored Core series, and always hating that the opening CGI looked so good…and then the actual game required me to imagine how cool it would be if the game actually looked like that. This one has the graphics, and has been noted as a game to keep my eyes open for. Hopefully they clean up some of those animations (the mechs looked like they were glued onto the end of a stick), and hopefully this is for PC when it rolls out.

  5. hard to believe this is the same engine that runs infinity blade on my ipod..it looks really sweet, hope this is for pc! its definately a game to watch out for, even tho with the likes of crysis 2 due to be released this month, its gonna take more than just graphics to really make an impact, hope the story and gameplay are just as spectacular!

  6. I have nothing to say with this one. I never thought an indie game could look and feel this good! This is one of the greatest indie games I've ever seen and wanted to play!
