Is Cameron Frye Actually Ferris Bueller?

While this does tread on sacred ground for me, having enjoyed Ferris Bueller’s day off with my friends and family for years, this mashup by Classy Hands that visualizes the Ferris Bueller Fight Club Theory is extremely¬† well done. Going off the idea that Ferris Bueller is actually Cameron’s projected alter ego, ala Tyler Durden, we’re treated to some awesome cinematic tricks of editing to turn Cameron into a deluded, angry, schizophrenic.

  1. Random question, but is there any way to make the embedded YouTube player show 360 or 480 as it's default resolution?

I'm sure that with this being a geeky site, a lot of us have high-powered computers, but a lot are also visiting on phones and netbooks, which aren't the greatest at handling the higher HD resolutions.

Not a complaint as such, as it's easy enough to reconfigure manually, but was just a thought – I watch all the 'wow' videos (astronomy/nature/etc) in HD, but for stuff like this, it's unneeded..

    • I just realised I can set it via my own YouTube settings, but I had to sign in to do so, so I'm pretty sure HD is the default on this site, since most other sites seem to display the smallest resolution as standard?

  3. I've heard of this theory before but haven't had the chance to re-watch the movie to really see for myself. The trailer definitely puts a new spin on the movie though. :D

  5. I was initially excited about this, but it doesn't work. In Fight Club, Tyler and the narrator never interact with a third party at the same time. Of course, they cannot b/c they are really just one person. That's the whole point of the story. However, in this mash-up, Cameron and Ferris are holding hands with a chain of people with the girl between them and they're both seen on TV. The bit doesn't work without some better editing.
