I saw the “barrel roll” thing yesterday, and thought it was pretty sweet. It also made me feel a little sick. Haven’t tried it yet? Just go to Google and type in “Do a Barrel Roll” in the search field. Here are some more nifty and geeky Easter eggs from Google.

Learning to Live with Procrastination [Video]

A cool promo video for David McRaney’s book, YOU are NOT so SMART.

An entertaining illumination of the stupid beliefs that make us feel wise.

You believe you are a rational, logical being who sees the world as it really is, but journalist David McRaney is here to tell you that you’re as deluded as the rest of us. Japan’s “K Computer” Breaks 10 Petaflop Barrier

Well, this is pretty amazing:

On Wednesday, Japanese IT giant Fujitsu and the government-funded RIKEN researcoh [sic] lab announced that the supercomputer they’ve built in Kobe can speed through 10.51 quadrillion floating point operations per second.

Known as the “K Computer,” this is the first megamachine to achieve 10 quadrillion operations a second — aka 10 petaflops — and it will be named the world’s fastest supercomputer when the official Top 500 list is unveiled next week.
