Cool and Complex LEGO Robotic Arm [Video]

The main purpose of this project was to accurately mimic the full range of motion of a normal human arm and hand. The secondary goal was to maximize speed and power, yet maintain a consistent ratio between the two for demonstration purposes. It is important to note that it was designed as an above elbow prosthesis, and the yellow shoulder is only meant to act as a static model.

Spray-On Antenna Technology Revealed at Google’s Solve for X Conference

A start-up called Chamtech Enteprises has an answer to the problems of poor cellphone reception and other shortcomings of traditional antennas.

The company has developed a spray-on antenna that it says is more lightweight, energy-efficient and effective than the old-school version. (Where was this stuff when the iPhone 4 came out?)

Doctor Who Themed Valentine’s Day Card

Since today is Valentine’s Day and I leave these sorts of things to the last minute, I was thinking of what I might do for my lovely wife. Of course, being the geek that I am, I wanted it to have special meaning so she would know it came from me. This means an easy grab of poetic Hallmark Cards and chocolate were just not going to do.

I couldn’t just hide a raptor in a romantic picture of us, but that was headed in the right direction.

Then I saw this Valentine’s Day card, and I knew nothing I came up with was going to top that.


I couldn’t imagine a more perfect Valentine’s card!
