On The Internet, Nobody Knows You’re A Dog

“On the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog” is a popular saying used to describe the anonymity of the Internet.

It began as the caption of a cartoon by Peter Steiner, published in The New Yorker on July 5, 1993 and is still used today when talking about the issues around online identity.

Now, with all that we do on the web, be it social and professional networking, dating, or buying and selling on auction and classifieds sites, the need to know who we are really dealing with is more important than ever before.

Hopefully this video brings awareness to the increasing need for trust online.

‘Pulp Fiction’ Flow Chart [PIC]

Whether you love him or hate him, one thing is for certain: Quentin Tarantino‘s narrative style is anything but linear.

Cue: “Pulp Fiction“.

Did Mia Wallace‘s adrenaline shot to the heart happen before or after The Wolf showed up? How is Vincent Vega in the diner with Jules “Bad Ass Motherf***er” Winnfield when he was just killed by Butch Coolidge scenes before?

Well, digital media designer Noah Smith analyzed the 2 1/2-hour film and created this handy-dandy flow chart (below) that visually explains who-did-what-to-whom-and-when.

Periodic Table Adds Two More Elements

First, Pluto is no longer a planet.

Now, students have two more elements to learn!

Flerovium (saywhatnow?) and Livermorium (gross!) were discovered by the Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Russia and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory here in America.

(Ohhh…”Flerov” and “Liver”…makes sense now…I guess.)

Flerovium (Fl) and Livermorium (Lv) will now be 114 and 116 on the periodic table now, respectively.

Who says media companies never listen to their fans??

Artist lupodirosso created designs based on all characters in “Mass Effect 3” and then emailed BioWare, the creator of the video game. Impressed by lupodirosso’s idea, the company said they would create a few of the hoodies for a trial run and if they sell well, the possibility of creating more will be discussed.

Take a look at lupodirosso’s proposed hoodie ideas below:

Tattoo artist Dave Hurban from Dynasty Tattoo in Newfield, New Jersey must really love his iPod Nano.

He must also really love pain, since he created the iDermal, which he then implanted…into his own arm.

The iDermal involves 4 magnets implanted under the skin of his wrist, on which he then places his Nano.

Check the video out below, but we warn you: It’s not for the squeamish or faint of heart!
