Bill Nye Lets the Creationists Down Easy [Video]

Bill Nye basically crushes the creationist viewpoint without so much as an angry word. I would imagine that any hearts Bill Nye has broken were very much ok quickly after…isn’t he just one of the sweetest scientists around? He’s literally saying that creationism is completely false, without doing it in a way that would instantly get their backs up.

Well done Mr. Nye and the most important part of the message is probably that you can believe what you want to believe, but don’t raise children in ignorance, because we need them, for a better and brighter future.

Soft Kitty Blanket with Sleeves [Pic]

Be your own little ball of fur with the style of blanket-attire that Snuggie made popular. Decorated with the kitty design that’s come to be associated with the Soft Kitty song from The Big Bang Theory (like the mug or the hoodie), this “blanket with sleeves” will be the most comfortable geek merchandise for TBBT fans!

  • Measures 54″ wide x 70″ tall.
  • Made of lightweight, soft, grey fleece – 100% polyester.
  • Machine wash cold. Tumble dry low..
  • Not intended for children 12 and under.

I actually do want one….

The Solar System to Scale [Pic]

This kinda puts the sizes of the different planets into perspective for you – Earth, Mars, Venus and Mercury all fit quite comfortably into Uranus. *giggle* Yes, I’m being immature.

This didn’t quite blow my mind as much as someone showing me that all of Europe can fit inside Australia.

A Salute to Neil Armstrong (1930 – 2012)

I’m sure by now you have heard that Neil Armstrong passed away at the age of 82, due to complications in cardiovascular procedures. Described as a “reluctant hero”, the first man to take a step on any other planetary body deserves a head nod, at the very least, from the geek community across the world.

Take a read of the obit (linked above) if you want to read more about a man who truly made history. But let this be a small salute to honour his passing and say thank you for a life devoted to pushing the limits and for giving us an example of someone who reached for the stars and actually went there.

Rest in peace, Neil Armstrong.
