The Joker Gets an Eight-Minute Standing Ovation at its World Premiere

Most people I know who enjoy superhero films were a little worried that the new Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix would be a disappointment. Well, worry not anymore, dear geeks, as the movie got an eight-minute standing ovation at its world premiere last Saturday at the Venice Film Festival.

When asked about his performance as the iconic villain, Phoenix said:

“I didn’t refer to any past iteration of the character. It just felt like something that was our creation in some ways.

“What was so attractive about this character for me is he’s so hard to define. You don’t really want to define him. Every day felt like we were discovering new aspects of his character… up until the very last day.”

According to Alberto Barbera, Venice film fest artistic director, the movie is headed “straight to the Oscars.”

Joker will hit the big screen on October 4. Will you be there on opening day? I know I will.

The MCU With Tom Cruise as Iron Man? [Deepfake Video]

From Collider:

What would the MCU be like if Tom Cruise was Iron Man? Using deepfake technology, we replaced Robert Downey Jr.’s performance throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe – from 2008’s Iron Man to Avengers: Endgame – with Cruise. This is DEEPFAKE THEATER.

Robert Downey Jr. was perfect in the role, but I guess Tom Cruise would not have been such a bad choice?

Please Don’t Settle Your Roleplaying Arguments With This D20 Mace

Settling an argument with your dungeon master with this D20 mace might not be such a good idea since a caved-in head will certainly not help for future game nights. Crafted by redditor King_Diamond_666, the numbers etched into the mace were applied using a technique called saltwater etching.
