HOW TO: Make Klingon Bloodwine from Star Trek at Home [Video]

From How to Drink:

Believe it or not, as far as I can tell Bloodwine originates in Star Trek The Next Generation, I would have guessed it showed up in the Original Series, but it seems not. The stuff is described as being: Warm, Disgusting, Twice as Strong as Whiskey, Possibly made from Blood, Klingon. We’re gonna hold to some of that, but the disgusting bits, let’s ditch. So, sure, my Blood Wine may not be a 100% setting accurate recreation, but my version you will actually enjoy drinking. As long as you like strong cocktails, because it is that.

Riker developed a taste for Klingon food and drink in Season 2, when he served with a Klingon Crew. Sisko and O’Brien drank copious amounts of Bloodwine while in disguise and undergoing the initiation rites of the Order of the Bat’leth. Apparently Archer drank it a bit, but frankly, I wouldn’t know much about that. I think Janeway would have killed for some Bloodwine to drink instead of all that Borg motor oil.
