First part of news. John Williams is working on Steven Spielberg’s latest movie, Ready Player One. This should excite anyone who knows how well John Williams music and Steven Spielberg films go together. The same can be said for Williams iconic work in the Star Wars films, and most recently, his music on The Force Awakens. In a recent interview with Variety, the brilliant film composer joked about how he hopes he gets the call to start working on the score for the 8th Star Wars movie, saying (almost certainly with a smile):

If I can do it, I certainly will. I told Kathy Kennedy I’m happy to do it, but the real reason is, I didn’t want anybody else writing music for Daisy Ridley.

Considering most of the world fell in love with the actress’ compelling performance as Rey in the most recent Star Wars, who can blame him?
