Why does Edison have the light bulb? Didn't Sir Joseph Wilson Swan invite it BEFORE Edison? (Though they did share the patent rights sadly).
If memory serves it may have been Heinrich Gobel who also had the same concept in mind. To be honest many physicists had been experimenting with the notion (mostly to study photon travel). So either Swan or Gobel could have had it before Edison. To be honest, I'm not 100% certain which, but I do suspect that Gobel may have had it first..
