You won’t like comic book fans when they’re angry. From the guys at Bleeding Cool, comes an inside look at how many reacted the day DC Comics logo died… and a new one rose from the ashes.

I’m sorry but I just had to add a Marvel reference in there… because I’m such a terrible person.

  1. Bleeding Cool loves to insult the base that keeps them alive. Meanwhile this logo is an outright theft of the Discovery History logo with a bit of the Broadway Books logo stolen and added to complete the heist. THAT we are supposed fall onto our knees for and supplicant ourselves befor?

  2. I don't read a lot of comics, and I'm certainly not a fanboy, so when I say this logo looks like crap it's not because I'm "used to" the old logo. This logo looks like crap. It looks like a desperate ad agency ran out of ideas and started doodling on coffee creamer lids at the local Denny's at 3 a.m. the night before their deadline and then turned them in. I have yet to see a "hero specific" version that looks even remotely interesting and the new logo doesn't inspire me to pick up any of the new reboot issues, not even on free comic book day.

Sure, people will get used to the new logo, but that doesn't mean that it's a good logo. A good logo would not only have brand recognition with current readers but it would also promote the brand to new readers and previous readers who stopped buying DC comics.
