Happy Birthday, Isaac Asimov!

Isaac Asimov was an American author and professor of biochemistry at Boston University, best known for his works of science fiction and for his popular science books. Asimov was one of the most prolific writers of all time, having written or edited more than 500 books and an estimated 90,000 letters and postcards. His works have been published in all ten major categories of the Dewey Decimal System (although his only work in the 100s—which covers philosophy and psychology—was a foreword for The Humanist Way).

What is your favorite Isaac Asimov book? Personally, I think that The Gods Themselves is his best novel, but what about you guys? Let us know in the comments section below!

  1. Nemesis was my 1st.
Foundation series is my favorite, but i have heard 3 recommendations for The Gods Themselves this week so its on my wishlist now.

  2. The Last Answer

Its a Short Story, and if you have never read it, read it. It will blow your mind.

  3. Although most go for Foundation or the Robots series (which are excellent) I love the Caves of Steel and the rest of the Elijah Baley novels. At it's heart it's a detective novel set in a Sci-Fi environment. Teaming him up with R. Daneel Olivaw, it's this book that start Daneel on his amazing journey to understand and ultimately protect mankind.

  4. Foundation and Robots sagas are great.
But if I have to choose only one, I take The End of Eternity.

  5. I discovered him via his essays on science, "The Left Hand of the Electron" is a collection of those essays that really caught my imagination.
