The Monster Alphabet Board Book

Written by Darren J. Gendron, and illustrated by Obsidian Abnormal, The Monster Alphabet is a 26-page board book featuring 26 legendary monsters, each associated with a letter of the alphabet.

When I found out I was going to become a father, I wrote The Monster Alphabet. I wanted a book to read to my son that was filled with nerdy delight, and came up with an alphabet based off the monsters of legend.

  1. I think it's a cool idea but I'm not sure that some of the images really lend themselves to a board book format — some are downright scary images. One of those super cool from a dad's point of view, not so much thinking from the baby's. I'd be cool with it if all of the images were as kid-friendly as the grumpy unicorn above though.

  2. "wonderful and crazy" is one of your quotes.
    I Agree!

I think it is a wonderful book!
I think I would be crazy to introduce it to MY child. If I looked at those pictures every day, I would wake up with nightmares!
However, the woman down the street who always yells at her child……. might be a good present for her…. hmmm…..
