Chronicle Movie Trailer [Video]

Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

Looks a little like what Heroes could have been… except better.

  1. Really? Yet ANOTHER film in which we're all expected to root for a bunch of teenagers simply because the benighted film companies did "research" and "focus-grouped" that teenagers are the only people who matter in targetting films. No wonder all films look alike these days. With these morons in charge we'd have had no Indiana Jones films or Bond or Quatermass or (fill in your favourite grown-up film character). Get the message? Teenagers, en masse, are boring. Their concerns are small, selfish and petty for the most part and, worse, most of us have got past all that and moved on. They only get interesting when some LIFE has happened to them and the more Life the more interested we are in them. Why else do we say GET A LIFE? Please, can we get back to films which do not depend on the world being saved by a bunch of moody children?

    • Obviously this is a tirade which has been building in you for some time. And while I agree with most of it, I would also submit that this did not seem to be a movie suited to the tirade. It does not look like these "moody children" were going to save the world, but more likely destroy it, and it also doesn't have to appeal to a wide audience because they didn't pitch it that way. So calm down, relax, and make a conscious decision to avoid watching the movie.

Good choice in saving yourself some money, and an hour and a half of your time which you can now put to more productive use. I commend you.

      • I have an even better idea. Why not review it and save all of us a lot of money. I will be very surprised if the ending doesn't go this way. Having almost destroyed a:their high school b: their town, c: the USA or d: the world one or more of them a: develops a conscience b: grows up because his powers have killed someone he cares about c: reads "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" in a Spider-Man comic or d: discovers God and it all ends happily or a bit ambiguously just before things get really dark. Is there a computer programme in Hollywood that generates these plots for kiddy pics? I see it's spread to TV as well with Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle and Teen Wolf and etc etc etc. Thank heavens for grownup stuff like The Walking Dead.

  2. Looks legitimately interesting… Certainly stirred up a hornet's nest on here… While I agree with most of what has been said, I'm waiting till we see more of it(or until I see the movie itself) to make any more serious decision. Although, I have always liked that whole "found footage" feel of some movies. Apollo 18, Blair Witch(the only aspect of that one I liked; I don't really "do" horror), District 9(although, I didn't like how D9 abandoned that view halfway through; just tore me out of the feel)… So, that's a point in its favor.
