Bioshock Infinite Preview [Video]

OMG. This. Looks. Totally. AMAZING!

BioShock Infinite is an upcoming first-person shooter video game, and the third game in the BioShock series. Previously known as “Project Icarus”, it is being developed by Irrational Games for a 2012 release on the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.[1] BioShock Infinite is not a direct sequel or prequel to previous BioShock games, taking place in an earlier period and different setting, though it features similar gameplay concepts and themes. The player controls a former Pinkerton agent, Booker DeWitt, as he attempts to rescue a woman trapped aboard the collapsing air-city Columbia in 1912. [Source]

  1. I allways thought that the Bioshock series are great games, but I'm never ever playing them. I despise all companies that use DRM in their software, making criminals out of their clients. I wouldn't play those games even if someone gifted them to me.

  2. I admit this looks amazing, it's just too sad that it's a shooter. I know realism hasn't much to do with gaming, but during that skylining scene he just should have died like 10 times, with all those bullets flying around. Or if somebody stands directly in front of you, and shoots you in the face, but nothing happens, but a grunt from the main character. This is so immersion breaking. I wish it was an RPG.

And somehow, while I like the main protagonist's voice, Elizabeth' voice actress has me not fully convinced. Still, all the little interactions between the two are great. I see this companion technique much more often done in games these days, and it's a development I like.

    Just my 2 cents.

    • If you watch the health bar during that sequence he actually DOES die. It's completely empty for a long time and he just keeps taking bullets. They're probably just using a pre-alpha build that doesn't have any sort of player death. Though I'll definitely be curious to see how many bullets it takes to drop Booker in the final version. It seems like enemies go down with a lot fewer bullets compared to BioShock 1 & 2.
