  1. Um, is it lame if I say my parents? For all her sports and tough-as-nails attitude, Mom was a nerd to her very core. Because of her I watched Star Trek, Babylon 5, Star Wars, Godzilla, and many many other nerdy thing. (She also introduced me to scifi and fantasy novels.) My Dad introduced me to lots of off-the-beaten-path movies and computers.

If not for their combined efforts, I would not be the nerd I am today.

  2. My DH is my "nerd hero" and my nerd "hero". He rocks my world and comes to the rescue on a weekly basis.

  3. I don't have one. Not really into the whole 'hero' thing. No one taught me, introduced me or otherwise influenced me beyond my parents taking me to the library every week.

  4. My friends are… the ones I used to game with back in the day. I have some friends now I can sit down and have an intellectual conversation with that has nothing to do with popular culture. My ex-husband is still a nerd hero, even if he thinks he isn't smart anymore. Then there is an old friend from back in the day that just is so intelligent and knows so much… I love to learn from him. My English professor is awesome as well. I know so many smart, intelligent, gamer, cool, sexy people that are so awesome… they are all my heroes. I know nerds aren't supposed to be cool but to this geek groupie Nerds, Geeks and Freaks Rule!

  5. Since I work in the IT field my two are Roy and Moss from The I.T. Crowd. Moss: "I came here to drink milk and kick ass, and I am all out of milk."
