Make and Receive Phone Calls from Gmail

Google has just announced that starting today, U.S. based Gmail users will now be able to place and receive phone calls directly from the Gmail interface. Calls placed to U.S. and Canadian-based numbers are free, and if you need to make international calls, the rates are extremely cheap. Check it out:

  1. Guys! I'm in Montreal, Canada and it works!!! To my iPhone and office phone. Now all I need is a mike and we're in!

Yup it is usable, but you and your call m8 must need a computer with net. so both you could connect each other, yes it's free, but how about when your connection gone? or simply to say that your net connection can gain only a sufficient signal, that's why in case of emergency you must also have prepaid calling card,
