    • THIS.

I'm a creative director at an ad agency and I would hire Mac and kick PC out of my office.

Mostly because MAC probably knows how to use BOTH MACS & PC's. PC is too old to even WANT to try to figure out a Mac (and he probably still uses PowerPoint xfd).

      • It is really a mood point isn't it? People fight back in forth about mac vs pc but when it comes down to it they are both explorer based operating systems with a ton of vulnerabilities and exploits just ripe for the taking. Mac users brag about its security through obscenity and window’s user enjoy the mass about of compatible programs. I say set them down and find out who has the best ideas and is right for your company. After all you can bring someone up to speed on how to use your gui system/application software in no time, however it takes forever to train the stupid out of someone. Then ask the Linux user who just rooted your system what he thinks. Terminal = awesome/higher_levelUser (1337*talent).

  1. Cheap shot. Truth is if I were looking for someone who'd follow the rules without question, who'd show up on time every day, clock in and clock out and do the job, I'd hire the guy on the left (PC) however, if I were looking for an independent thinker, someone who breaks all the rules, someone with leadership potential who could change my company for the better the choice is obvious…the guy on the right (Mac). Those of you who see the suit as the better choice are cogs in the machine and like the material that passes through them you'll be crushed by age 40 (so sad). GET A LIFE!

    • Oh you mean the cogs that keeps todays world running? See if everyone were a free thinker, most likely humans would not exist for a free thinker might come up with things but will never amount to anything.

      • Free thinkers never amount to anything? I'm not going to list every artist, musician, philosopher with a reputation because it takes too long, but I'm pretty sure if you just think of some famous examples yourself you'll want to withdraw that comment.

  2. id actually hire pc, altho, they have the clothing wrong, pc is a gamer at heart, and gamers dont wear suits. period, ever, at all.

  4. I can get whatever games I like for my Mac, and the graphics are so much better than my pc was for gaming. My pc used to skip and freeze a lot and take ages to load.

    • Most likely because your PC was a pile of crap while the Mac you got is of higher quality. Mac is better at running games now but not as good as a nice quality PC.

I would higher PC simply because he looks like someone who would dedicate themselves to their job. Mac looks like the kinda guy that would come to work late and do the bare minimum their job required (if that).

    • So your PC was shit.. and your mac was newer…

When a mac breaks… it breaks, period. When a PC breaks, you can fix them!

Working in IT support for years, the day we removed all Macs from the business was the day lots our support calls dropped. Granted, they are good for keeping you in a job, but pain in the freaking ass!

Next to user error, they are the biggest issue!

Mac users are usually dim also… so not really a good combo.

    • You obviously don't like very many games or bootcamp windows then (making your mac an overpriced PC anyway!). Hardly any good games can be played in OSX though valve's just brought a few across the reality is XBox 360 games will run fine on Windows after a little modification to use a keyboard and mouse (or even xbox controller plugged into the PC!) but they'll never run on a Mac at all.

  7. Seeing as they both already have jobs, I would probably not hire them either way. However, the dude on left is a comedian and could make me laugh all day, whereas Justin Long is just attractive. Pretty gets old REAL quick…

  9. Yeah, I'm getting seriously tired of the singularly biased, anti-mac sentiment posts, here. Stop being a hater! It's annoying and makes you look stupid!

    • How can you even say that, when Mac INVENTED the "singularly biased, anti-PC sentiment"

They were the ones that made the TV ads making it out that PCs are dull, and macs are fun…. They shouldn't start a flame war if their users can't deal with retaliation!! :P

    • Go watch one of the commercials this screenshot is based on again, then go look up 'ironic' in a dictionary.

  11. I thought this image was pretty hilarious, and it's relation to the average, desk-job work environment is spot on. The tools for aptly running an organized business, on an adjustable scale, do not exist through the Mac brand of software and hardware at a feasible cost for administration. So, yeah, businesses are going to continue using PC's because they're the most cost effective way of getting things done, and they've got the most appropriate tools to manage work spaces. There are probably people who disagree, but I think every office I've ever worked in would beg to differ. In that regards, who isn't going to choose the "PC" when he comes in for an interview?

  13. Anybody who argues about weather PC's or Macs are better is an idiot. They both suck in ways that aggravate me. And don't even bring up Linux.

Computers suck. I still love them though.

  15. The Windows guy should be an idiot pimply kid from GeekSquad who spends a half hour in the store trying to sell me based on the FPS he's seen when I'm asking his opinion on a bloody headless server.

The Mac guy should be a salt and pepper hipster with an ear-ring in the "strait" ear and glasses who brags about what a bunch of creative free thinkers mac geeks are despite Cupertino being the capital of Vendor Lockin.

I'm a GNU/linux geek at heart (even though I now actually have a mac in front of me) but I have to admit that for folks who don't give a flying crap about FLOSS the Creative Commons, or anything written by Neal Stephenson we're a bunch of know nothing knowitalls who act like computer experts, but can't even open the docx file you sent us.

To be honest I wouldn't hire any one of them.

  17. Has anyone else noticed how the Mac ads speak to us, the consumer, as if we're idiots? I'm talking about the nursery type of music, the smug attitude, and the condescending "we're-talking-to-idiots" choice of wording that they use (among other things). I was on the fence about PC vs. Mac until those commercials came out.

  19. I have to say, I don't trust suits, never have, never will! I am a hippie, creative child of the 60's and HATE big corporations. However, that being said, I don't like MACS. Probably because I have been using PC's since they first came to be used in an office setting. Yeah, MACS have great graphics, Yeah, MACS have NO viruses, Yeah MACS have smaller size and better functionality, but they are HELLA expensive, and when they break you have to replace them, NOT just fix them and the interface is confusing when you are used to a PC. I am torn. I would have sex with the MAC dude, and NOT the dork PC dude, but I have to say, I am a PC.

    • Sunnshyne, hating big corporations is no reason to pick the Mac. Didn't you see the news a few weeks ago? Apple is bigger the Microsoft now.

      • Hi Henry, please RE=READ what I wrote. I was saying I don't trust suits and don't trust big business. I use a PC at home but I have to use a MAC in the photo lab at school and they drive me crazy. I would MUCH rather have a really well built PC with an amazing graphics card and a security suite to beat the band then spend shit loads of money on a MAC. Read the last sentence. I am a PC. Period…

      • Are you freaking kidding me? Apple bigger than Mocrosoft? Maybe in the portable music player sector but Nowhere else. You = Fail

        • My friend, Apple has a total amount of  CASH esteemed in 50 Billions dollars! 50Billions…That means that apple has a sort of life jacket of 50 Big quids and it can do anything with it….Even buy a freaking state in central or south america …NOT microsoft… Don't be mislead by market percentage and MONEY….IE….Fiat (or Ford…you know I'm italian)  has the (just guessing) 70% of the car market, while Ferrari only the 1% or 5% or whatever….But Ferrari is a much Wealthier brand than FIAT or Chrysler….And their cash is far superior…..

          Regards

  21. Why does everyone think that a PC is running windows. My PC which runs Ubuntu boots in ~23 seconds. That is power off to power on to login and open Firefox in 30 seconds. I have yet to see a Mac do that.

    • What is Ubuntu? I have never heard of that, but if I can get away from the Windows OS and get something fast and reliable I would LOVE that. Info please?

    • Seriously? 23 seconds? That's kinda slow, what did you do to it? ;)

10.04 improved boot/halt times a lot, like when I type in 'sudo halt' the machine is off in 2 seconds. I set up autologin and boot power button to desktop is <10 seconds, and in this case another second for XBMC to hide the Gnome interface.

On the Mac/Win argument: I'd use Macs if they weren't so darned expensive. I can stand them as much as Windows machines. That's pretty much my whole POV.

And I'd probably hire the actor on the right, if either, but it does depend on the job.

  23. considering at it's peak apple had 12% of the computer market, went bankrupt, got millions from Gates and still is under 12%. That's because Apple users are generally followers of what they learned in schools that got them for zip by jack tramell and having closed and expensive arch did not help. Not sad truth just marketing that got them shut down in foreign countries for untrue advertising (USA allows you to lie).

Amiga has just as big a base worldwide and mac does not run faster or have more of anything then a more expensive toy that does less…like the Ipad!

    Please don't reply I won't be listening.

  27. Cool is not the word I would use. He looks careless, sloppy and possibly dirty to me. I don't love the other one, either, but at least he looks like he cleans his clothes and showers.

  29. Just the same debate over again …

Windows works it just works, quirky but works, it's like you can't open the hood, but by realizing how the engine sounds you can certainly say by expertise it's a small messy one trying to propel a whole tank. And because it's monopolistic position, every imposed app into the educational systems works there, unfortunately; Linux, like the *BSD is the reliable operating system you know it will work even when you check and know what's under the hood, a powerful greasy engine; If don't know exactly what are you doing under the hood, like a good car engine, you may break and waste it, of course!!; and Mac OSX is like in the middle of windows and unix-like systems, with a reliable core, it's like you know the engine, but the the power distribution system is held
shut, and if it gets rusty and then magically be opened, in the worst case scenario you might see it was damaged from the inside if you don't take care of it properly and by over-using your fancy car.

I’ve used Windows for 16 years and Linux/BSD/Mac systems for 5 years. I hope my rant is useful for you.
