  1. It's too bad apple stole the idea from some poor guy who didn't have a patent and never gave him credit. Shame shame on all the "progressive" hipsters who think apple is a freethinking indie-friendly entity.

      • um.. think again. Apple's products are extremely proprietary which doesn't exactly encourage indie development. If I wanted, I could buy several Ipods but I'd rather not give them my money because of that.

BTW, I am a web designer that chooses to work on a PC.

    • This sounds to me like a serious case of butthurt from someone who can’t afford an iPod and is envious of those who we can.

  3. @RU

RU effing dumb? MP3 players existed for years before the ipod. you telling me some schumck who didnt have the $$$ to apply for a patent would have the initiative or resources to create the infrastructure to support an itunes/app store?

credit? hey, i have an idea…a flying car. i don't have the $$$ for a patent. but, when someone gets one off the ground and it takes hold, i better get my cut. jerkoff.

  5. I think he means that someone literally pretty much designed the iPod as it is, rather than simply said “I have an idea for a piece of machinary that plays music without any disks or tapes”.

I’m not sure whether it’s true, but are YOU dumb? I've heard this case cited before, but I've never confused "I've designed the whole blueprints for a working mp3 player with a scroll wheel.." with "Hey, I have an idea!"

  7. As usual, jerks like RU make accusations without even trying to offer a single atom of proof.

Apple has a history of developing ideas hat someone else had but were too lazy/stupid to do anything with it. The GUI for the Macintosh was developed from a idea at SPARC. There are those that do and those that dream and wait. Apple does, Microsoft copies. The rest are dreamers with no drive.

  10. James Smith João Pessoa, Brazil: "Apple does, Microsoft copies. The rest are dreamers with no drive." HAHA I GET IT, no 'drive'! LOL good 1!

  12. And little does anyone know that any major mac advancement is usually derived from linux. Such as multiple-desktops, visual effects, ntfs3G etc. Any corporation that would desire to remain in business will have to steal ideas. There is an entire market for ideas out there, and it is a brutal blood-thirsty one. Working in the music industry myself, and being a linux/pc/mac user (all at once) I can say I really don't care. None of them are superior, and they serve their own purpose. If you are limiting yourself, then you are holding yourself back.
