Woman Drags Leashed Kid Through Verizon Wireless Store

I know that kids can sometimes be a real pain when you bring them shopping, but it’s not a reason to drag them along by a leash, especially if they’re on the floor when you’re doing so.

[…] She was charged with felony first-degree cruelty to children. Police say she was observed by customers and employees at a Verizon store, dragging a small child around by a backpack leash. The child had visible marks on the neck from the incident. She remains in jail without bail.

  1. Okay, aside from it being a web video, how is this geeky?

I'm not disagreeing with why how it was presented, as you weren't making light of it as in the now-infamous dog-o-matic videos. And I know I defended that you have to post unfocused content once in a while to be fresh.

But it seems as if a geek post is becoming the special feature of the day, rather than the normal content.

I like web videos, but being a video hosted on a website doesn't make it geeky in itself. I like just reading geeky stuff sometimes and text-based, geeky posts are becoming rarer and rarer.

It's all random web videos and 3D films of the day now…

But on-topic, if that mother spends a good few years in prison and is never let near her kids (or any kids) again, that still isn't punishment enough. I hate when people even treat their pets like that, even ones that can and do bite back.

    • Andrew: Rarer and Rarer? :) There's at least one to two, and occasionally three text posts every day… One thing you may not know is that I pay people to write on here… So I can't have an endless stream of unique content! Running this place is probably more expensive than you realize.

3D videos are geeky enough, and as analytics stats show, readers love them. So I'll keep on posting them, that's for sure.

      • Fair enough.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining – there's enough for me to keep coming back, anyway! I read and watch every post on here, whether I like it or not.

And I don't mean original content as such, just more geek-focused as opposed to random non-geeky vids like this one.

I'd be happy to write for Geeks Are Sexy on a free trial basis, if you are ever on the lookout for new writers. Like I said, I actually do like this site and don't want it to seem like I'm dismissing the site as a whole, as such :-) shoot me an email if you are interested.

  3. My answer to Andrew would be that it is geeky because of venue ;). Plus a leash is technology :-)

    Lighten up! :)

    Have a great day!!!
