2012: The End of the World – Are You Ready?

No, no, don’t worry folks, we’re not talking about the actual end of the world here, but of 2012, the upcoming movie from director Roland Emmerich, the same guy who produced Independence Day and The Day After Tomorrow.

What? No LHC destroying Earth in this trailer? Clearly, I find Mr. Emmerich’s lack of vision disturbing!

  1. Don't you just love it when Hollywood produces another movie to quench the thirst of Paranoid Schizophrenics, and ufologists?

The Discovery Channel probably already planned a weekend marathon of apocalyptic documentaries for this movie's weekend premiere.

    FEAR FEAR FEAR!!!

  3. By your comment about no LHC destroying the earth in the trailer, you show that you're not a 'native' to the movie business.

Think about it, if they'd done that now, they'd have nothing left for the sequel, "End of the World, Pt II." ;-)

    • Yeah, somehow, something tells me that this is going to be another one of those "empty" movie… just look at what the directors has done in the past… 10,000 BC? One of the worst movie… EVER! :)

  8. The 2012 phophecy is unbiblical! You don't have to believe on that? Many people trying to predict end times, even though its unbiblical or they don't believe in God? Why do they concern about endtimes in fact they don't care what God is saying on the scriptures? The original end of the world belief came from the Bible and the Bible alone has the original to speaks!

The End of the world will be compose of 2 events not just single date. The Rapture will be May 21, 2011 and after 5 mos the world will be melted with fire on October 21, 2011. 2 Pet. 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11. Actually, the whole Mayan 2012 thing is just the end of the next 'cycle' in their calendar. But several recent scholarly discussions discount it as anything portending the end of the world; i.e, it's *not* a "prophecy." But, as usual, when it gets misquoted by the popular media, or incorrectly boiled down by the 'talking heads' on the news; what the scholars meant isn't what the masses heard, and we have 'Chicken Little, Pt 6.'

@Rosalie, let's try to keep this from becoming another religious zealot forum, OK? There are already plenty of spaces for you to preach and vent your spleen without bringing it here. BTW, there's also a reference in that book that says something to the effect that no one will know precisely when the end will come. So, the more certain that you are that you know the date, the more certain that I am that you haven't a clue.

I once worked with someone who told us all the date of the end of the world — three separate times. Imagine how embarrassed he was when he was wrong — three separate times. Be careful how 'certain' you are of things.

My suggestion to you is to broaden your reading. What you'll find will cause you to adjust your rather adamant, rigid, albeit under-informed position; if you have an open mind, that is. It's not considered sacrilegious to read other scriptures, other texts. Bible scholars do it all the time.

Now, can we get back on track?
