In Brockworth, England, where common sense goes to die, the 2025 Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling Race once again saw dozens of thrill-seekers (and future chiropractors’ clients) throw themselves down a cliff in pursuit of a speeding wheel of Double Gloucester cheese.
This tradition, possibly 600 years old, featured seven races — including one just for women — and zero chance of anyone actually catching the cheese as it rockets down the hill. Spoiler: it hits up to 70 mph and doesn’t care about your ACL. The winner? Whoever reaches the cheese wheel first at the bottom… preferably conscious.
This year’s daredevil champions included German YouTuber Tom Kopke and Luke Preece, who dressed as Superman and proved that even Kryptonians can’t fly when tumbling headfirst down a hill. One unlucky soul went home by ambulance, cheese not included.
Catch the carnage, catch the laughs, but don’t try to catch the cheese. Seriously, don’t.
