Fascinating: the Spock Toque

Etsy seller FiveCornersDesign has single-handedly changed my view of Vulcan-inspired headgear with their knit Vulcan hat. This thing is just too crazy.

“You know what would rock? A SPOCK TOUQUE! Like, it would be black, and cut right across your forehead (like his bangs) and his skintone ears would be the part that covers YOUR ears!”

And from that simple request was born “Live Long and Keep Warm”– a hat to transform you (or a friend!) into a perfectly logical being. One size fits most adults, the hat is fairly stretchy and designed to hug the head like a wig.

As sold, the hat is knit with black acrylic yarn, and the ears are made with a finer acrylic yarn. Wool yarn is available for an upcharge. I knit them as I get the orders in, so expect about 2 weeks before delivery.

**Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with Paramount or Star Trek in any way (though that would rock). These hats are just for fun and warmth :)

Seriously, not buying one of these is highly illogical. If that’s not your thing, Five Corners also has some sweet geeky gamer wristbands and a Mario Bros. mushroom cap.

Thanks, Samantha, for the heads-up! :)

When Geeks Meet [Comic]

It can get… awkward.

What does XD look like in real life, anyway?

Badass Steampunk RoboCop Sculpture [Pics]

If you’ve got a spare $6400 and you’re looking for the best possible way to spend it, let us direct you to Etsy seller Kreatworks. This steampunk RoboCop is made of scrap metal, auto parts, upcycled machine components and all the win.

At nearly 8 feet high and 5 feet wide (thanks to Robo’s long arm of the law), you’ll need substantial room to park this beauty. Might I suggest the driveway or just inside your front door?

If RoboCop’s not your thing but you’d like an insanely heavy metal steampunk recreation of something, Kreatworks also offers Hellboy, Wall-E, Predator and a variety of Alien pieces.

WANT: Fan-Made Avengers Minifigs

Avengers superfan Andrew Becraft (Dunechaser) couldn’t wait for the 2012 release of Lego’s official Avengers minifig lineup, so he made his own with extant minifig components and a steady hand. They’re incredible, really–it’s hard to imagine how Lego might top these next year.

Check out some more pics in Becraft’s Flickr stream.

DIY TARDIS Cufflinks for the Classy Geek

You may not always wear cufflinks, but when you do, you should wear these spiffy ones inspired by Doctor Who.

Simon Jansen, a self-professed Anglophile and trainspotter, made these from an N-scale police box model. If you’d like your own, head over to Asciimation for the instructions.
