Anaheim’s WonderCon is the small, magical sister of the world-famous San Diego Comic-Con. Here are some of the most fun cosplays I spotted at this unique con that’s located only a block away from Disneyland.
President Loki
With all the chaos running rampant in the world right now, President Loki is an increasingly appealing alternative to our current politicians — and who could resist that smile? If you want to show your support, you could even get your own pins or headgear.
The Rocketeer and Betty
One of the things that makes WonderCon so special is its proximity to Disneyland invites all kinds of Disney cosplays, often featuring lesser-known or older characters, like this duo from The Rocketeer.
Did you know you don’t need to be a master cosplayer to make cool helmets like this guy has? You can get a kit to build your own on Etsy.
Gadget Hackwrench
Speaking of awesome, oft-forgotten Disney characters, how many of Disneyland’s GADGETcoaster riders are completely unaware of the namesake of the tiny coaster? It’s great to see Gadget brought to life in such an adorable way.
Hobgoblin
You don’t see many Hobgoblin cosplays because it’s hard to do right. However, this guy’s make up was off-the-charts perfect —and a little creepy.
Daisy Mai
It’s everyone’s favorite turnip seller, the adorable Daisy Mai. While she may look a little less boorish in this costume, she’s every bit just as charming.
Officer Clawhauser
This chubby cheetah is always a delight, but he’s so much more memorable with his lost donut hiding right in plain sight.
Labubu Monster
For those who don’t know already, Labubu is a wildly popular vinyl toy brand right now, and this monster is their top seller. Booths at the convention were flooded with these dolls, but this was the only living, breathing monster we saw there.
Lord Farquaad and Duloc Mascot
It’s everyone’s favorite egotistical, three foot tall lord, along with his fearful and goofy mascot. Who wouldn’t want to visit Duloc with these two around?
Clicker
Don’t let this one get too close. She’s got a bite you won’t soon forget, but at least it can help make you feel like a part of something bigger than yourself. While we can’t help you recreate her exact monstrous look, you can buy prosthetics to turn yourself into a creepy clicker for a cosplay or Halloween costume.
Thomas Shelby
San Diego Comic-Con isn’t conducive to cosplays like this one because it’s just too darn hot and the floor is beyond crowded. The weather and reduced crowds at WonderCon are just right for a layered look like that worn by the Peaky Blinders.
