Twenty years ago, I started Geeks Are Sexy with a simple idea: to share the coolest things from science, tech, and geek culture with the world. I never imagined it would grow into a site that’s still updating every single day, two decades later.
Back in 2005, the internet was a different place. Blogs were personal, weird, and full of heart. Most of the sites from that early “.net” era are now long gone, with only a handful, like BoingBoing, Neatorama, and Laughing Squid, still online today. Geeks Are Sexy remains proudly independent, still running on caffeine, curiosity, and a deep love for geek culture.
Through all the ups and downs, changing algorithms, social media drama, and a global pandemic, what’s kept this site alive is YOU. The readers. The fans. The fellow geeks who still believe the internet can be a fun, creative, human place.
If you’ve enjoyed what I do over the years and want to help keep Geeks Are Sexy alive and independent for the next 20 (I hope to still be alive by then!), please consider supporting through Patreon or PayPal. Every bit helps keep the lights on, the servers running, the caffeine flowing, and my kids eating!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being part of this adventure. Also, a massive thank you to Darren Rowse and John Chow who both brought me to this path back then.
Here’s to another 20 years of geekiness, laughter, and staying gloriously weird and awesome.
