Remember that cute little deer who made you cry in 1942? Yeah, well… he’s not so cute anymore. The final trailer for Bambi: The Reckoning is here, and it’s turning your childhood into a full-blown bloodbath.

From the folks who turned Winnie the Pooh into a slasher and gave Peter Pan some real issues comes the next entry in the “Why Is This Happening?” cinematic universe, aka the Poohniverse. This time, Bambi’s all grown up, mutated, and ready to turn the forest into a venison-scented nightmare.

The plot? A mother and son crash their car in the woods, and now they’re being hunted by a grief-stricken deer with rage issues and possibly rabies. It’s being described as Cujo meets Jurassic Park, which sounds about right if Cujo had hooves and a vendetta.

In theaters July 25.
