In a galaxy where no copyright is safe and every joke has at least one penis reference, the Schwartz has officially awakened. That’s right, Mel Brooks has confirmed Spaceballs 2: The Schwartz Awakens is real, and Honest Trailers is celebrating the only way they know how: by going straight to ludicrous speed with a long-overdue roast of the original Spaceballs.
Behold a parody that mocked Star Wars before it was cool, commercialized the commercialization of movies, and made Rick Moranis a Sith Lord with sinus issues. From yogurt-powered mysticism to the most uncomfortable helmet in sci-fi, it’s a film where the real villain is whoever thought “12345” was a good password.
This trailer has it all: fourth wall breaks, flamethrowers, virgin alarms, dogs who are also their own best friend, and one deeply cursed Alien musical number.
Strap in. Zip up. And remember: we ain’t found shhh…
