Now being 44, when I was in 9th grade, part of the computer class was understanding how to convert numbers from binary, base 16 and base 10. I was actually surprised they didn’t teach that any more. Though, now that I think about it, we learned assembly 6502 in that class, so there is that. I had to explain the joke to my kids a few years ago, glad my little nerds got it.
Probably the target audiance is 13 year olds. Here it is still taught in school at that age…
