Yep, that looks fairly accurate. Fortunately that “ongoing development” stage eventually ends at one point, but it can take a while, especially when you automate tasks for others. Ask any good code geek faced with working for others, he’ll tell you!

  1. The real benefits are that 1) the result is more accurate or repeatable, 2) the work can still be done when the key person moves, and 3) the code documents a process that might otherwise remain undocumented.
