This funny comic by Julia Lepetit and Andrew Bridgman from Dorkly illustrates quite well how most people’s perception of the Star Wars franchise has since the late 1970s. For those of you reading this from the front page of the site, be sure to hit the jump for the rest of the comic.

ha ha
Except why would first guy wonder if it's a "new" Star Trek movie. First Trek movie came out after Ep IV.
Star Wars is done, PERIOD! (Well, more like "EXCLAMATION!")
Pfft, I'll always be a fanboy through it all. Great comic though ^^
For the fans that keep track of everything Star Wars, I think the graph would be more volatile. For instance, the next Star Wars game has many fans excited. And there are still mixed feelings about the selling of the franchise to Disney, but the general reaction is "at least Lucas isn't in charge anymore".
seriously no mention of KOTOR? let alone the academy games etc.
I do not think the graph bar went low enough in the sequels phase of the last three. I am not sure you can even plot that on a infinite axis for that fiasco.
Suggesting that Jedi was released in 1982 nullifies the validity of this article.
