Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus

Someone, somewhere thought this would be a good idea. You can almost picture the pitch, probably born in committee:

I know! I know! Let’s put a giant shark… I mean a GIANT shark in a movie with, with, with a giant octopus! The biggest octopus you’ve ever seen, no, even bigger than that! And then they fight each other! It’ll be great, and we’ll get some big name stars, too!

And it will go straight to the home video market.

    Bad camera director …
    Bad effects …
    Bad pitch …

Oh oh, we have a winner !
For the biggest and worse film of the year !!

  2. This one’s been in the news for the last few days – it’s gone totally viral on YouTube and elsewhere on the web. According to Deborah Gibson herself, she (and everyone else involved) had a whale of a time producing what’s almost undoubtedly going to be a massive cult hit. No seriousness involved at all. Hell, it’s on my must-buy list, that’s for sure!

This could be everything that Snakes on a Plane wasn’t.

Don’t get me wrong, I love ‘proper’ films like Fight Club, The Shawshank Redemption and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…but everyone now and then we need a mindless action or comedy just to kick back to, like Crank, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and now Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus!
