We’ve been deeply saddened today to learn that Star Wars: ROTJ actor Gerald Home (Squid Head, Mon Calamari officer,) passed away this week from liver cancer.
My girlfriend (pictured) and I were privileged enough to actually meet the man back in 2019 at Shawicon, and we even had the chance to sit down and have a few beers with him after the event. Gerald was one of the nicest actors I’ve ever met. He was kind, empathetic, and took the time to listen to us, asking questions about our personal lives. The thing that marked me the most about him was that he actually cared about what we had to say. My girlfriend’s son, who’s a MASSIVE Star Wars geek, is also autistic. After telling Mr. Home about him, the actor took a business card and scribbled his personal phone number on it, telling us he could give him a call anytime to chat about Star Wars or anything he felt like. A wonderful man, indeed.
May the Force be with you, Gerald, always.
