Baby Yoda Flies to The ISS With The SpaceX Crew [Video]

Sure, we might not be “a long time ago in the galaxy far, far away,” but that does not mean that characters from the Star Wars universe cannot litteraly go into space! On Sunday, during SpaceX’s historic Crew-1 commercial flight, the crew brought a special guest inside the Dragon capsule: The Child, also affectionately known online as Baby Yoda by the whole Internet.

The Baby Yoda plush had a very important role to play during the flight: he was acting as the “zero-gravity indicator,” an object that is brought on board to determine when a microgravity environment has been reached.

Now how amazing is that? :)

We sure hope that we’ll see more of the Child once the astronauts have docked to the ISS on Monday night. They’ll live and work aboard the space station for approximately 6 months, so I’m pretty sure “Baby Yoda” will make other appearances at least a few other times while they are there.

I just hope the little guy will behave, because as we all know, he really likes to touch things.
