This is a screen test (below) from 1976 with Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill. According to Hamill, it was the first time two had met, and they hadn’t seen a full script for Star Wars yet. Their chemistry was fine, but Hamill was portraying a shy young man who was out of his depth. He apparently got coached in speaking up after this reading, since his lines were completely drowned out by Ford, who already completely embodied the character that Han Solo would be.
