NASA’s gorgeous music video for Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune”

Few people know this, but I am a pianist, and one of my favorite pieces to play is Claude Debussy’s Clair de Lune…it has this hold on me, a haunting rift that takes me away from all my problems.

In 1905, Debussy wrote this amazing piece as an ode to the moon, of what he knew about it, of what science was then able to tell from it.  Today, in 2018, a bit over 100 years after, NASA took this wonrderful masterpiece and adapted it to what we now know of our permanent natural satellite.  Clair de Lune’s soothing piano and NASA’S 3D digital model built from the lunar reconnaissance orbiter pictures give us a stunning view of our moon, it’s hidden secrets and gems.  How can one not be fascinated by this video…
