Sure, you’ve subscribed to one of those “Do Not Call” lists that are supposed to protect you against undesired calls from marketers and spammers, but you’re still getting them, right? Now, thanks to a new feature on Android phones, you can send some of these “evil” people directly to your voicemail!
For this to work, you’ll need the latest version of the phone app on your android phone. First, start by opening the phone app and then hit the three dots on the top right part of the screen. Then just select “settings,” scroll down and hit “Caller ID & Spam,” and finally, just activate the feature! This will just warn you that the call you are receiving might come from an unwanted caller.
If you want to completely stop spam calls from ringing on your phone, be sure to also activate “Filter suspected spam calls.” Your phone will not notify you of the missed call or voicemail, but you’ll still be able to see the filtered calls in your call history as well as any voicemail you might receive from these calls.
If a call gets through the service, you can report it by going to “recent calls” in your phone app and then tap the call you want to report. Once this is done, just tap block/report spam. You’ll then be asked if you want to block the number. Finally, if you have the option, tap “report call as spam.”
The new system won’t be perfect at first, but the more people use it, the better it will get.
