Do I Have ADHD? A Not so Simple Question!

Do I Have ADHD or ADD? If you’re wondering if you are affected by this condition, you are not alone: A lot of people search the Internet every day for this not so simple question. There are a lot of sites out there claiming that they can tell you if you suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder by asking just a few questions, but the diagnosis of the condition is much more complex than that. Filling out a questionnaire asking if you’re the type of person who constantly lose his/her keys or keeps on getting distracted by things happening around you might give you an idea, but it cannot compare to a professional diagnosis.

I suspect I’ve been suffering from ADD myself for quite some time but I’ve never been diagnosed or taken any medications to help me focus in my daily activities, so is it possible that Ritalin, Concerta, and other similar pills are being overprescribed? Waiting for a child’s brain to mature might be the only thing needed to reduce the prescription of stimulants by a large margin. I am no health professional though, so if some among you are working in this domain, I’d love to hear your opinion!
