There’s not usually much to laugh at with chemical weapons, but the Russian embassy in the United Kingdom raised a few smiles with an unlikely illustration.
In a tweet yesterday, which tagged in Russia’s ministry of defense, the embassy reported that “Extremists near Aleppo received several truckloads of chemical ammo.”
It then used the picture shown above. If you didn’t spot anything amiss right away, there’s a clue in the small text caption which reads “Image used for illustration purposes only.”
That’s because rather than an aerial photograph of the actual trucks, it’s a screenshot from Command & Conquer: Generals.
It seems the embassy has a limited photo library and occasionally struggles to find a suitable image. Earlier the same day, the same account tweeted a link to a post about Russia continuing to fight “nazism” and illustrated the tweet with a screenshot from Norwegian zombie movie Dead Snow.
